How did the Empty Nest get started?  Well, back in 2021 when my youngest headed off to college, I decided it was time to start taking on new challenges. I had always wanted to try refinishing furniture, but never had the time between selling real estate and cheering for my boys at the baseball field. With my boys now adults, it was time to start putting my background and love for interior design to work by using my creative flair to reinvent items to give them wings to fly.

Now, with each piece of furniture I create, every challenge I overcome and all the wonderful people I meet along the way; I am reminded of how important it is to do what you love. Never be afraid to take on new challenges, you just never know where it may lead you.
